Maxine Ryan is co-founder and COO of Bitspark Ltd., the world’s first cash in, cash out Blockchain remittance solution for businesses.  She will discuss the general funding landscape for early stage startups and the realities of finding investment for entrepreneurs and small businesses in Hong Kong. She will provide insights on the future of funding in South-East Asia.

Karena Belin, a TEN member, co-founded W Hub in Hong Kong in 2014 with a mission to assist startup entrepreneurs with connections to talent, potential team members, market opportunities and funding.  To date W Hub has already grown into a community of more than 3,000 active members, incl. over 500 startups and a mission to raise over 17 million USD in funding.

After the presentations by Maxine and Karena, the session will continue in an interactive Q & A format where members and guests are encouraged to discuss relevant issues with our guest speakers.

TEN is co-promoting this event with Female Entrepreneurs Worldwide (FEW), a female entrepreneurial organization based in Hong Kong ( ).  Co-founded by Ms. Anna Wong and Ms. Ines Gafsi, FEW is developing international networks and offers inspiration, support and connections to successful, like-minded female entrepreneurs.  Non-profit TEN, now in its 10th year of supporting entrepreneurship is pleased to organize this special event with two accomplished female entrepreneurs.

Originally from Germany, Karena has worked over 14 years for Procter & Gamble in various roles including finance, sales, business planning and management across Germany, France, North East Asia and Greater China. Her experience covers technical areas in finance, control and strategy, as well as business building areas such as product launches, portfolio management, organization re-design, competitive intelligence and negotiations.

Karena is also very passionate about driving diversity and inclusion and is active as SVP of Business Development and Communications at WoW (Women on the Way-up) of the American Women Association (AWA) in Hong Kong. In her spare time, she loves being involved in her daughters’ school as VP of Events of the Parent Faculty Organisation (PFO) at the Hong Kong International School (HKIS).
